Measure at the narrowest point, or midway between lowest rib and hip.
Enter height in centimeters (50–250 cm)
Cut-offs are slightly relaxed for adults over 40.
Clinical Note
Waist-to-Height Ratio (WHtR) = waist circumference ÷ height. Research suggests keeping WHtR below 0.5 ("keep your waist to less than half your height") is associated with lower cardiometabolic risk across ages, sexes, and ethnicities.
Reference Table
| WHtR | Category | Risk |
|---|---|---|
| < 0.40 | Underweight | Possible under-nutrition |
| 0.40 – 0.49 | Healthy | Low |
| 0.50 – 0.59 | Overweight | Moderate |
| ≥ 0.60 | Obese / High Risk | High |
