What is Watering eyes?

Watering eyes happen when tears are produced in excess or can't drain away properly, often due to irritation, allergies, a blocked tear duct, or dry eyes triggering a reflex overproduction of tears. It's common in both babies, due to underdeveloped tear ducts, and older adults.

While usually a minor annoyance, persistent or one-sided watering, especially with pain or discharge, is worth having checked to identify and address the underlying cause.
