What is Vaginal ring?

The vaginal ring is a small, flexible ring inserted into the vagina that releases a continuous low dose of oestrogen and progestogen hormones to prevent pregnancy, working similarly to the combined pill. It's worn for three weeks, followed by a ring-free week, then a new ring is inserted.

It offers similar effectiveness to the combined pill without needing to remember a daily tablet, and most people and their partners don't notice it once correctly positioned.
