What is Smelly urine?

Smelly urine is common and often has a simple explanation, such as dehydration, certain foods (like asparagus), vitamin supplements, or medications. A stronger or unusual smell can sometimes indicate a urinary tract infection or, less commonly, other underlying conditions.

The colour and other symptoms alongside the smell — such as pain, cloudiness, or blood — often help determine whether it's likely to be harmless or needs further investigation.
