What is Period problems?

Period problems cover a wide range of changes to the normal menstrual cycle, including irregular timing, heavy or light bleeding, missed periods, or bleeding between periods. Many fluctuations are normal, especially around puberty, perimenopause, or after starting or stopping contraception.

Persistent or significant changes can sometimes point to underlying causes such as hormonal imbalances, polycystic ovary syndrome, thyroid problems, fibroids, or, less commonly, other gynaecological conditions.
