What is Penile cancer?

Penile cancer is a rare cancer that develops in the tissue of the penis, most commonly on the foreskin or head. It typically starts as a change in the skin, such as a growth, sore, or discolouration, that doesn't heal.

Risk factors include HPV infection, phimosis (a tight foreskin that's difficult to retract), smoking, and poor genital hygiene. Early diagnosis significantly improves treatment outcomes, so any unusual, persistent changes should be checked.
