What is Night sweats?

Night sweats refer to episodes of heavy sweating during sleep that soak your nightclothes or bedding, beyond what would be expected from a warm room or heavy blankets. They're common and often have a straightforward explanation, such as menopause, a mild infection, or certain medications.

Less often, persistent night sweats can be linked to conditions such as an overactive thyroid, low blood sugar, anxiety, or, rarely, more serious underlying illnesses, particularly when they occur alongside other symptoms.
