What is Nail problems?

Nail problems cover a wide range of changes to the appearance, texture, or health of the fingernails or toenails, including discolouration, thickening, ridging, splitting, or lifting from the nail bed. Many are harmless and related to minor injury or wear, but some can signal an underlying skin condition, infection, or general health issue.

Common causes include fungal infections, psoriasis, repeated trauma, biting, or over-use of certain nail products. Nail changes can occasionally be an early sign of conditions such as anaemia, thyroid problems, or circulation issues.
