What is Heel Pain?

Heel pain is common and often caused by plantar fasciitis, inflammation of the tissue connecting the heel to the toes, typically causing sharp pain with the first steps in the morning that eases with movement but can return after rest. Other causes include Achilles tendon problems, heel bursitis, or nerve compression.

Most heel pain improves with conservative treatment, including rest from aggravating activities, proper footwear, and stretching, though persistent cases may benefit from physiotherapy or other specific treatments.
