What is Hay Fever?

Hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis) is an allergic reaction to pollen, causing sneezing, an itchy or runny nose, congestion, and itchy, watery eyes. Symptoms typically follow a seasonal pattern, worsening during specific pollen seasons — tree pollen in spring, grass pollen in early summer, and weed pollen in late summer.

While not dangerous, hay fever can significantly affect quality of life and sleep during peak pollen season. It's usually well managed with a combination of reducing pollen exposure and appropriate medication.
