What is Constipation?

Constipation means passing stools less often than usual, or passing hard, difficult stools, often accompanied by straining, bloating, or a feeling of incomplete emptying. It's very common and can be caused by factors like low fibre intake, insufficient fluids, lack of physical activity, certain medications, or ignoring the urge to go.

Most constipation improves well with simple dietary and lifestyle changes, though persistent or unusual symptoms are worth discussing with a doctor to rule out other causes and get appropriate treatment if needed.
