What is Breast Pain?

Breast pain is common and usually not a sign of cancer, most often related to hormonal changes across the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or simply the natural texture of breast tissue. It can affect one or both breasts and range from mild tenderness to more noticeable discomfort.

Cyclical breast pain, linked to the menstrual cycle, is the most common type and often improves with simple measures, while non-cyclical pain may have a different cause worth discussing with a doctor.
