What is Baby Blues?

The "baby blues" refers to a short-lived period of emotional ups and downs that many people experience in the first few days after giving birth, caused by rapid hormonal changes alongside the physical and emotional demands of early parenthood. It typically involves tearfulness, mood swings, and feeling overwhelmed, usually peaking around day 3 to 5 and resolving within about two weeks.

It's extremely common and doesn't need specific treatment, though comfort, rest, and support from those around you can help. It's different from postnatal depression, which lasts longer and tends to be more intense.
