What is Asthma?

Asthma is a common long-term condition affecting the airways, causing them to become inflamed and narrowed, leading to wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and breathlessness. Symptoms can be triggered by allergens, cold air, exercise, smoke, or respiratory infections, and severity varies widely between people.

While there's no cure, asthma is usually very well controlled with the right combination of preventer and reliever inhalers, along with identifying and managing individual triggers.
