What is Acne?

Acne is a very common skin condition, particularly during the teenage years, though it can affect people at any age. It happens when hair follicles become blocked with oil and dead skin cells, leading to blackheads, whiteheads, pimples, and sometimes deeper, more painful cysts, most commonly on the face, chest, and back.

Acne is influenced by hormones, genetics, and sometimes stress, and while it often improves with time, effective treatments exist for all severities, from over-the-counter options to prescription treatments for more persistent or severe cases.
